Chapter 1: Perspectives. Part 1
There was always a sad atmosphere within the tented walls of a hospital camp. Why shouldn't it be they were in a war time, countless lives being lost and injured everyday. The current location was the leaf village, miles way from the battlefield was a medium sized camp which was where most patients recovered and were rehabilitated but more so death occurs here frequently.

None of us think that this job is easy, men think that women are fragile, can't handle tough circumstances and will break easily well in my case that's not true at all, i never really disclose my family life to anyone but trust me I have been through a lot. I'm a nurse here at the Konoha Medical Camp. I like, the other nurses; care for the patients that come in from the battlefield; there are some of us have loved ones away at war, others have lost brothers, sons, husbands, lovers during battle. It can take an emotional toll on you, but we are in service to our village.
Today in particular was a rough, as i made the rounds wearing strained dark blue nurse dress complete with a pair of grey stockings and black Mary Janes, a dark grey headdress was worn with my hair in a long ponytail. As my eyes gaze over the beds I smile at the patients who are recovering, from my understanding war take a toll on a soldiers mind, many here have seen their comrades die before their eyes, bombs and near misses. I can't imagine what it is like going through that day after day.
I seat myself down near a brown haired solider named shikamaru who asks for me to play his favourite board game, i agree and i set up the board. I feel that i make a difference by playing games and talking with the recovering patients. Their family comes and visits them some times. It makes me feel good to see a smile. As i make my move in the game I debate in my head just how pointless war really is, over something so trivial. Lives and families are torn apart, broken promises to soldiers who left in the fight only to be killed in the bloodshed.
But i have duty to help my village and help i shall, whose knows whats in store?

A few grammar errors I noticed when reading this, however other than that it is an interesting prologue. It's good to read a Naruto fanfic that features OCs and Mei seems a likable character from the start. She has a caring despoition and it seems she is passionate about looking after people. It makes me wonder what will happen next in terms of the plot.
